The Charge On Air - BuzzU Feature

BuzzU, developed by student entrepreneur and junior mechanical engineering major Eric Buswell, helps students find free items across campus. The concept is simple: When a giveaway pops up, users can drop a pin on the map so others can quickly find it, creating a real-time, student-powered network. “I really wanted to start BuzzU because I saw there was a disconnect between the events going on on campus, and then the students being able to find them,” Buswell said. I also spoke with freshman biology pre-med student, Chloe Noble about how BuzzU helped her explore the campus. “As a freshman I think BuzzU is really helpful, because when I first started here, I didn’t know about pretty much anything on campus or anything around campus,” Noble said. “Having the app really got me out of my dorm and started hanging out with people and getting to know people, and I joined a couple clubs because of it.” Lastly I interviewed senior biology pre-med student, David Ramos about what it's like on the other side of the table. “I’m a part of two or three medical clubs, and we’re always giving out free stuff, but people don’t know about it,” Ramos said. “There’s no way to promote it, other than if you happen to walk past our booth that day.”

ESPN+ Tyler Paton Remembrance Feature

Tyler "Ty" Paton was a UCF student in the Nicholson School of Communications and Media and a beloved member of both the Hitting The Field Network and ESPN+ Pregame Show crew. Ty was a son, brother, amazing friend, and an aspiring sports broadcaster with a bright future. However on December 12th, 2025, Ty unexpectedly took his own life. This feature story honors his life, and is the most difficult piece I have put together in my young journalism career thus far. I interviewed his brother, Nick Paton, a marketing major at UCF who has helped advocate for mental health since losing his brother, as well as Kathleen Moore, the executive producer and new host of The Combine at the Hitting The Field Network.

I recorded, edited, interviewed, scripted, and voiced over this package.
